In this paper we develop a relatively simple but general model describing the formation of urban agglomerations in a pre-industrial setting. Rural agglomeration on a local scale arises from the multiplication and specialization of intermediate goods and labor services, while dispersion is due to the commuting costs of agricultural workers. Urban agglomeration on a more global scale stems from the trade-off between increasing returns to scale and transport costs of goods. The endogeneous nature of the dynamic analysis among classical economist's writings

« Endogenous growth theories » exhibit different models in which growth is assumed to come from the accumulation of a particular factor (human capital, technology, public infrastructures, etc.). However, due to its newness, the real term of « endogenous growth » seems to playdown old theories.This paper intends to put right this position and demonstrate that relations displayed by current models are only formalizations stemming from the developments of classical economists. In the end, we demonstrate that their analysis yields new viewpoints for analysts. Overall, we wish to reinforce theendogenous nature of the dynamic analysis among classical economist's writings.
Variations de la phénologie végétale et relations avec la variabilité pluviométrique et la croissance démographique dans le nord du Cameroun.

International audience; La variabilité des précipitations dans le Nord du Cameroun (entre 6°N-13°N et 12°E-16°E), au cours de la période 1982-2002 et leur relation avec l'évolution de la phénologie végétale et la croissance démographique est étudiée. Dans un premier temps, l'on présente le cycle annuel et la variabilité interannuelle des pluies à partir des données de 31 stations inégalement réparties sur la région. L'évolution du couvert végétal et la densité de la population sont ensuite présentées à partir de synthèses bimensuelles d'indice de végétation normalisée (NDVI) à 8km de résolution d'une part, et de données de densité de population de 79 unités administratives d'autre part.
